Founded in 1945, St Peters Lutheran College is a Christian, co-education school with two campuses located in Indooroopilly and Springfield, Queensland. The college identifies itself as a community and home-away-from-home, catering to students from Prep to Year 12 and providing boarding at each of its campuses.

Known for its diverse learning pathways, cohesive sports programs, and world-class performing arts facilities, St Peters needed a new school website that highlighted its best features while providing clear navigation between the two campuses for prospective families.

We spoke with Ross Thomson, Director of Community Engagement, and Anthony Cox, Graphic Design and Web Editor, to learn more about their experience working with Digistorm on this project.

The challenge

As a multi-campus school, the team were looking for a way to create easy navigation between its Indooroopilly and Springfield campus — a key feature missing from the school’s existing website design. The team had a clear vision for creating a new website that would engage prospective families, but also act as a resource of tools and information for existing families. Given Digistorm’s extensive experience developing websites for top schools across the globe, Ross and Anthony enlisted our help to create the perfect website for St Peters.

“We had good discussions about things that we thought the site needed and what Digistorm suggested could make it even better. When we launched the website, it was well-received. We achieved our goal as people found it very easy to navigate and get to where they needed to be — quick.” - Anthony Cox

The development process

For Anthony, our dedicated project managers were able to grasp exactly what he was after and made the development process simple.

Having helped dozens of schools with their development processes, our project managers understand that each school tends to have different needs. As a result, we were able to determine exactly what St Peters needed, which helped to drive their development process. It’s also important for schools to have access to resources, on-going support, tutorials, information, and anything else which will help them to stay on track and feel self-sufficient.

Simple website content management

At Digistorm, we know that it’s essential to provide our schools with the tools to make quick and easy updates to their website content without any prior experience or coding knowledge. Anthony agrees that our content management system has been easy for the entire team to adopt!

“We have always found Digistorm to be very helpful in everything that we've asked for. If we have an issue, they're more than willing to jump on board and help us out. The timeframe of turning things around is also really quick! It's been a positive experience and we would recommend them to any school.” - Ross Thompson

“Many of our team have used other CMS programs before, but I think if someone was to come into the office with little experience, they would find it quite easy to navigate. To be able to add images, videos, and create tables without having to do all of the coding makes everything a lot quicker, a lot easier, and less stressful.”

By catering to St Peter’s specific needs, the development process was smooth and efficient, and the team was able to quickly hop on board and feel comfortable with all the systems. Ultimately, this allows them to greatly enhance their online potential for both admissions and marketing, and become self-sufficient.
